When driving with or without a destination specified, the displayed position will randomly start to deviate from the actual position of the car.
Hi Again, Regarding my problems with Sat Nav - After having car for 1 month now, I'm still no nearer getting the unit working.. The Skoda dealer is waiting on a complete front to back wiring harness to replace the current one, which they think will fix it.. but involves removing all the headliner and the infotainment unit, an all day job they said.
After a short holiday in which the octavia coped very well with all our family luggage and pushchairs etc, and returned 52mpg (fully laded diesel dsg estate) I was impressed. What I was not impressed with was the amundsen satnav. I already know this system is lights years behind other manufacture
Posted 10 August, 2021. Cracked it On a 2013-15 Octavia with an amundsen MIB1 unit follow these steps to upload the latest map.. Using a Windows PC (not a Mac) access the skoda update portal, www.updateportal.skoda-auto.com, enter your VIN number and follow the instructions to download the map.
Chris. That only works for Columbus systems, Amundsen requires the mandatory use of a Skoda specific SD card to do any sat nav updates. Also if you do any map updates, use the VW sat navigation site for a more up to date set of maps. Use Golf GTi as the car (after 2017) and then choose either:
Now to install the maps; Insert the maps DVD into the Columbus (The map disks are copyrighted so you will need to visit a dealer or buy an official map DVD disk). Nothing will happen on the screen when you insert the disk other than some noises where the disk will sound like it is being read.

Whenclosing the hatch you just need to push the sat nav on the top edge with your thumb so it goes to the back corner of the compartment to let it close. Having my bluetooth installed on Thursday, so thinking about getting a power cable for the sat nav hard wired in and coming into the back of the storage compartment so no cables hanging around!

They had it in and gave it a software upgrade. I thought at the time that it possibly had just randomly started working again and sure enough it
